The Estonian air defense system for the first time shot down a Ukrainian drone over the country's territory. This was stated by the head of the Estonian Defense Ministry Hanno Pevkur, the Delfi portal reports.
"Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that a drone entered Estonian airspace. Baltic air defense shot down a drone over Lake Vyrtsjarv… According to him, we are probably talking about a drone of Ukrainian origin," the text says.
This is the first time when the Estonian air defense system shot down a drone on its own, Pevkur noted.
As EADaily reported, in March, a Ukrainian drone crashed into the chimney of a power plant in the village of Auver, located near Narva near the border with the Russian Federation. In April, the wreckage of a Ukrainian UAV was found in the north of the country. At the same time, the Estonian authorities regularly state that they did not give permission to Ukraine to use airspace for drone attacks on Russian facilities.
