US President Donald Trump would not like to go to war against China if Taiwan declares independence. The politician said this in an interview with Fox News channel on May 15.
He expressed hope that the situation against the background of disagreements between the parties will not worsen.
"I will say this: I don't want anyone to follow the path of independence, because, as you know, it was assumed that we would have to travel 9.5 thousand miles (more than 15.2 thousand km) to wage war. I don't want that. I would like them to calm down. I want China to calm down," Trump said.
