In Germany, there are real prospects for the restoration and restart of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The corresponding plans are being hatched by the opposition Alternative for Germany party.

According to the German edition of Spiegel, this is stated in the draft government program of the party. It is indicated that Nord Stream should be repaired, and the gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea should be put back into operation.

This project will take real shape if this political force (AfD) is able to win the elections in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The publication draws attention to the results of polls, according to which the party is leading in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a rating of 35 percent, which "makes its participation in the formation of a new land government almost inevitable."

Earlier, EADaily reported that the United States is hatching plans to restore the Nord Streams, which involve their initial purchase from European owners for a song. This was reported by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
