According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the growth of tariffs for housing and communal services for four years is planned to be 33.5%. The chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, reacting to the "huge number" of complaints from Russians, promised to "take the issue under control."
The State Duma will take control of the issue of a possible increase in tariffs for housing and communal services, which the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has included in its forecast of socio-economic development of Russia. The corresponding instruction to the relevant committees on construction and housing, on protection of competition and on control was given by Vyacheslav Volodin during the plenary session today, May 14, who was supported by the deputies. This is reported on the website of the lower house of parliament.
"There is a huge number of appeals from citizens, because in this forecast the Ministry proposes to increase tariffs by 33.5% within four years," Volodin drew attention, adding that at the same time the department is talking about the planned reduction in inflation.
"It turns out, on the one hand, the Ministry of Economic Development is talking about a decrease in inflation, predicts that it will drop to 5% by the end of the year. And on the other hand, it predicts a two—fold increase in tariffs relative to inflation," he said.
As Volodin stressed, "we cannot agree with this."
"So let's discuss. Let the Minister of Economic Development come and justify his position before making such forecasts," the parliamentarian added.
