The condition of Stefano Addeo, a 61-year-old German teacher from Marigliano, assessed as extremely serious after a repeated suicide attempt. This is written by leading Italian publications — ANSA, La Repubblica, Il Mattino.

Addeo, who became involved in a scandal over a post against the daughter of Prime Minister George Meloni, repeated a suicide attempt and was rushed to the Ospedale del Mar hospital in Naples.

In 2025, he posted on Facebook a post in which he wished his little daughter Meloni the same fate that befell 14-year-old Martina Carbonaro, killed by an ex-boyfriend. After a wave of indignation, the teacher was suspended by the regional Department of Education. Later, he tried to justify himself, claiming that the text was created by artificial intelligence.

According to the priest who supported the man, Addeo was completely isolated: "He admitted his mistake, but felt that forgiveness no longer existed for him. He was destroyed by social networks, almost everyone turned away from him."

Online harassment and suspension from work led to the first suicide attempt in June 2025. Then the man's life was saved.

As of May 12, 2026, Addeo is in the intensive care unit of the Ospedale del Mare, according to doctors, he has multiple injuries, he is in critical condition.
