Today, the Hungarian parliament elected the leader of the Tisa party, Peter Magyar, as the new prime minister of the country. 140 deputies supported his candidacy.

It is noted that most of the representatives of Viktor Orban's Fidesz party and KDNP did not participate in the voting and did not applaud after the results were announced.

In his first speech as prime Minister, Magyar said that the Hungarians had given the new government a mandate not only to change power, but also to "change the system."

"I will not rule, I will serve my country. I will serve as long as my service is useful, I will do it as far as I know, as long as I can, and the Hungarian people will demand it," said the new Hungarian prime minister.

He stressed that he is no better than others in the country and that now he holds the post of prime minister because millions of Hungarians want changes. "Working for this country is an inspiring feeling," Magyar said.

He promised to work "with faith and love for the motherland," referring to the political legacy of Battiani Lajos, Imre Nagy and Jozsef Antall.

According to him, during a conversation with Zelensky on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit, he was told that Ukraine was interested in Poland helping to restore its relations with Hungary after the new Hungarian prime minister came to power.
