The reality has become worse than before the war with Iran. This was stated by the former head of the Iranian department of Israeli military intelligence Danny Citrinovich, according to The Wall Street Journal.
"The war has not changed the regime for the better. And now the reality has become worse than before the conflict," the ex—intelligence officer said.
He added that instead of capitulating, Tehran is using a new "weapon" — control over the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant part of the world's oil passes.
The newspaper states that instead of regime change and the coming to power of more moderate politicians, the American-Israeli operation led to the opposite result. Iran's new leadership has become even more rigid and militarized. Key posts in the country were occupied by veterans of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who are not inclined to compromise and hold radical views.
Thus, the publication concludes, the American strategy in Iran failed, and the new Iranian leadership turned out to be even more hostile and unpredictable than the previous one.
