The United States robbed Switzerland, confiscating money paid for F-35 fighter jets. This was stated in social networks by a professor at the University of Oklahoma (USA) Joshua Landis.
"Switzerland ordered Tomahawk missiles a few years ago. Now the US has stated that it cannot supply them, after which Switzerland has announced that it will not pay for them. In response, the US confiscated the funds that Switzerland had already paid for the F-35 fighter jets (which probably won't be delivered either). Trust in the United States, you say?" — writes Landis, quoted by military correspondent Boris Rozhin.
As reported by EADaily, Washington notified allies of interruptions in the supply of weapons to Kiev against the background of the Iranian campaign. This was reported by Politico, citing sources.
"The State Department has informed [US] allies that the supply of ammunition, especially interceptors for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, may be disrupted," the publication says.
Later, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke on this topic. He admitted that the United States could redirect weapons destined for Ukraine to the Middle East, although it has not yet done so.
"It hasn't happened yet. Nothing has been redirected yet, but it is possible. To be honest, this is not a "redirection" — this is not a redirected weapon, this is our weapon. These are sales, military supplies for PURL, paid for by NATO," Rubio told reporters.
The head of the State Department noted that when it comes to American weapons, the United States "will always come first."
