The calculation of the United States and Israel for a blitzkrieg in Iran failed. This was stated on the YouTube channel of Professor Glenn Diesen of the University of Southeastern Norway, Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago.
"The West, the United States and Israel, launched this operation believing that they could use a 'shock and awe' strategy based on beheading. We will behead the regime, we will shock the Iranians, people will take to the streets... and we will achieve all our goals. This was the main strategy," Mearsheimer said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
To implement such a plan, a quick and decisive victory was necessary and it was doomed to failure initially, the expert noted. As a result, the United States got involved in a protracted conflict.
"We got into a protracted conflict… I think many people don't fully realize this, but in a protracted struggle, almost all the trumps are in the hands of the Iranians. First, (US President Donald) Trump does not have a good strategy for ending the conflict. And if he goes down the path of escalation… Tehran has an advantage at every stage," Mearsheimer stressed.
Iran has a huge influence on the international economy, it can also use the countries of the Persian Gulf or attacks on Israel as leverage, he added.
As EADaily reported, the US burned the fake news map too quickly, the market no longer responds to this. This was stated on the social network by the speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
So he commented on the repeated information stuffing of US President Donald Trump in an attempt to lower energy prices.
