The situation in the fuel market of Ukraine continues to become more complicated — diesel fuel reserves in the country at its current costs will last only until the end of March, forecasts for April are uncertain.
This is reported by Reuters, citing the findings of analysts from the consulting company Enkorr. According to their estimates, daily imports increased by three percent and amounted to almost 17 thousand metric tons.
The experts stressed that the supply of diesel fuel to the Ukrainian market is secured until the end of March, and the prospects for supplies for April remain uncertain due to rising prices.
At the same time, it is indicated that against the background of the war in the Middle East, wholesale prices for diesel increased by almost 50% in a month. And this is not the limit.
Forecasts for Ukraine are disappointing, as it is almost completely dependent on imports after the destruction of its refineries. Therefore, any fluctuations in the market immediately hit prices. If the situation does not stabilize, fuel may rise in price even more.
Enkorr noted that at the current import rates, the total monthly volume could reach 522 thousand tons in March, which almost corresponds to the volume in March 2025.
However, in April, the situation on diesel fuel at Ukraine remains unclear, as suppliers postpone decision-making until the last moment.
Earlier, EADaily reported that wholesale prices for diesel fuel in Europe continue to rise rapidly and have already left behind the record figures of the peak of the energy crisis in 2022.
