Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, discussing the situation in the Middle East, agreed to keep in touch on issues of ensuring peace and stability. This was announced by the head of the Indian Cabinet.
"We received a call from President Trump, and we had a constructive exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East. India stands for the de-escalation of the conflict and the speedy restoration of peace. Ensuring the openness, security and accessibility of the Strait of Hormuz is of vital importance for the whole world. We have agreed to keep in touch on issues related to efforts to achieve peace and stability," Modi wrote on Twitter, quoted by TASS.
As EADaily reported, earlier today, the US ambassador to the South Asian republic, Sergio Gore, informed that Trump and Modi discussed the situation in the Middle East by phone, including "the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open."
