The US and Israeli attacks have destroyed parts of Iran's critical water supply networks. This was stated by Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi, ISNA news agency reports.
"The vital water and energy infrastructure of the country has suffered serious damage after terrorist and cyber attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime. The attacks targeted dozens of water supply and purification facilities and destroyed parts of critical water supply networks," Aliabadi said, quoted by The Guardian.
According to the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Pirhossein Kolivand, the total number of damaged civilian facilities "reached 81,365 according to the latest estimates." According to him, this includes residential and commercial facilities, schools, medical centers and transport.
ISNA reported today that the strikes damaged a hospital in the southern city of Ahvaz in Khuzestan province, Fars news agency published photos of rescuers removing bodies from the rubble of destroyed buildings in Tabriz, located in the north of the country.
It is unclear exactly when these strikes occurred, the British newspaper notes.
As reported by EADaily, Iran promised the region irreversible consequences in the event of an attack on its critical infrastructure. This was stated on the social network by the speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
So he commented on the ultimatum of US President Donald Trump, who gave Iran 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for shipping or face the destruction of energy infrastructure.
