An unpopular conflict and expensive fuel could hinder Donald Trump's presidency. The Economist magazine writes about this.
Republicans should not panic, the White House insists, but signs of panic are still noticeable, the newspaper notes.
"Despite the statements of President Donald Trump that he has "destroyed 100% of Iran's military potential," the remaining 0% are damaging the global economy, blocking 10-15% of oil supplies," the magazine says ironically.
It is noted that the war started by Trump "is more unpopular among American voters than any other recent conflict, so the chances of Republicans to win the midterm elections in November have become even lower.
The position of the magazine is shared by American analyst Alan Ayre, an expert on Iran and the Middle East. He published the above quote on the social network X — without comment.
