The Hungarian delegation arrived in Ukraine to check the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline, the work of which was stopped by the decision of Kiev. The Hungarian edition of Index writes about this.
The commission was headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Hungary Gabor Tsepek, who intends to negotiate the launch of the pipeline.
"Our task is to verify the condition of the pipeline and create conditions for its resumption. It is absolutely clear to all of us that this oil belongs to the Hungarian Oil Company, it is Hungarian property," the Secretary of State said.
However, the Ukrainian side has already made it clear that it will not allow Hungarian officials to come to inspect the Druzhba oil pipeline. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that they do not have the status of a delegation, but are perceived by Kiev as tourists.
The position of the Ukrainian diplomatic department was voiced by its representative Georgy Tikhy. He said that this morning a group of Hungarian citizens arrived on the territory of Ukraine without a visa.
"Any person with a tourist purpose can enter the Ukraine from the Schengen countries. On the territory of Ukraine, this group of people has no official status or scheduled official meetings, so it is definitely incorrect to call them a delegation," said Tikhy.
Earlier, EADaily reported that if Hungary and Slovakia will continue to prevent the allocation of € 90 billion, the European Union is ready to provide Ukraine with financial assistance in the form of bilateral loans.
