The United States has asked Israel to stop attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure. It is reported by The Guardian with reference to the publication Axios.
It is noted that this is the first time since the beginning of the Iranian campaign that Washington has curbed an ally.
According to one of the Israeli officials, the request was conveyed "at a high-level political level," as well as to the chief of the IDF General Staff Eyal Zamir.
According to Axios, the Trump administration named three reasons for this request: the United States intends to cooperate with the Iranian oil sector after the war, as in the case of Venezuela, they fear that the strikes will harm the Iranian public, and also that this could provoke large-scale retaliatory attacks by Iran on energy infrastructure throughout the Persian Gulf.
As reported by EADaily, Israeli strikes on Iran's fuel facilities have caused discontent with the administration of US President Donald Trump, N12 reports, citing American and Israeli officials, as well as a source familiar with the details.
On March 7, the Israeli Air Force attacked about 30 fuel storage facilities in Tehran and other cities. The IDF said that the warehouses were used to supply fuel, including military units, the TV channel reported. An Israeli military source claimed that the purpose was to signal to Tehran the need to stop attacks on Israeli civilian infrastructure.
