At the first meeting of the Trump Peace Council, held in In Washington, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, judging by his speech, surpassed himself and everyone else in his eulogies of US President Donald Trump. And, by the way, not for the first time. In this regard, the question hung in the air: for what? There is a clear impression that this is not just banal flattery, just in case, excluding the Maduro option. Tokayev obviously needs something from Trump.
Trump's name
To begin with, let's remember what the Kazakh leader said to the head of the White House at the "USA plus Central Asia" summit, also held in In Washington last November.
"You are a great leader, a statesman sent by heaven to bring common sense and traditions that we all share and value back into the politics of the United States, both domestic and foreign. That is why millions of people in many countries are so grateful to you. I am convinced that your wise and courageous policy needs strong support from all over the world. Under your leadership, America is entering a new golden age. I highly appreciate your far—sighted vision of how to make America great again," Tokayev said then.
In January on At the World Economic Forum in Davos, he continued to praise the American president. During the meeting with the American leader, the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan could not resist drawing his attention to the fact that in the official document "365 victories of President Donald Trump for 365 days" distributed at the Davos Forum in his glory, Kazakhstan's accession to the Abraham Agreements is listed as the 177th victory. That is, it seems that Kazakhstan won, forcing him to sign up for this case. And Kazakhstan, they say, is honored.
As for Tokayev's speech at the meeting of the Peace Council, here his speech completely overshadowed all previous praises.
"Our meeting at the Donald Trump Institute of Peace is taking place at a time when decisive and pragmatic actions are becoming crucial. In fact, we are talking about building a lasting peace through practical, targeted measures, and not through endless conferences with resolutions based only on good wishes. Mr. President, your clear vision and far-sighted approach to promoting global peace and stability have inspired my country to join the To the Peace Council," Tokayev said.
Then the stream of flattery against the current owner of the Oval Office intensified, turning into a powerful mudflow. The President of Kazakhstan said that so far the world has not seen such initiatives, that he fully shares the reasonable and wise convictions of the American leader, that under his strong and far-sighted leadership ... In a word, everything is in the spirit of the solemn and pathos speeches of the party congresses of the Soviet period.
The culmination of Tokayev's eulogy for the glory of the director of the newly formed Peace Council was the proposal to establish a special peace prize named after Him.
"I would like to propose the establishment of a special award named after President Trump from the Peace Council in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of peace—building," the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan said without hesitation.
It would be possible to develop the topic by stating, for example, that in Astana one of the central streets or even avenues will be named after Trump for his outstanding services to humanity and all that. And then the same will be done in other Kazakh cities. But Tokayev's advisers, apparently, forgot to think about it.
With a long sight
One way or another, but such speeches are not made just like that. Any flattery pursues some goal. What is Tokayev trying to achieve?
There is an opinion that he is counting on the support of the American president in the election of the UN Secretary-General, in which, according to rumors, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich is going to take part. For Trump, his vassal in this post would be very useful. And the multi-vector Tokayev for this, it seems, is suitable in all respects.
He has a certain authority among world leaders, does not conflict with anyone, tries to be friends with everyone, pointedly not taking sides in conflicts. This allows him to maintain good relations with Trump, and with Putin, and with Xi Jinping, with whom he communicates without translators. In addition, he is a career diplomat with extensive experience, which includes a period of work as Deputy UN Secretary General and head of the UN office in Geneva.
And if we take into account that the election of the UN Secretary General will take place next summer, we can understand why Tokayev, firstly, is so crumbling in odes to Trump. And secondly, why did he so easily agree to throw $ 7 billion into Trump's "obshchak" (crazy money for the budget of Kazakhstan) allegedly for the restoration of the Gaza Strip, which was trashed by the Israelis. And he gave the go-ahead to send the Kazakh military to the peacekeeping mission in the Gaza Strip.
Against the background of such prospects, the possible US aggression against Iran, apparently, ceases to worry the president of Kazakhstan from the word "at all." And his proposal to establish a peace prize named after the one who is going to implement it… It doesn't matter that no one supported him. The main thing is that it came from Tokayev. And it sounded to the whole world right in the eyes of the red-haired "peacemaker" who steals the presidents of sovereign states and threatens with force anyone who disagrees with him.
