It's enough for me: Bezrukov spoke about the prospect of heading the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio

Theater and film actor, teacher, People's Artist of Russia Sergey Bezrukov commented on rumors about the possibility of taking the post of rector of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School. He wrote about this in his telegram channel.

"I have no plans to submit my candidacy for the post of rector of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School. My employment in the management of the theater, teaching at VGIK, artistic activity is quite enough for me," the artist noted.

At the same time, Bezrukov learned that he was suspected of some "insidious plans to seize this position."

"To those who sincerely believe in it, I answer just as sincerely — no, it's fake. And to those who know perfectly well that there is not a word of truth in these speculations, who, as they say, "inflates for fun," for the sake of HYPE, I will say, well, your will, continue if it heals you mentally," Bezrukov advised.

"Health is more important," he concluded.

As EADaily reported, the director, Honored Artist of Russia Konstantin Bogomolov, appointed acting rector of the Studio School on January 23, announced his resignation on February 11 amid active criticism of former graduates and university teachers.

He "from the heart" wished the current and future leadership of the university "good luck and patience." Bogomolov did not explain his decision in any way.

Later, a TASS source named possible candidates for the position of rector of the Studio School. This short list includes: theater and film actor, People's Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Moscow Provincial Theater Sergey Bezrukov; actor, People's Artist of Russia and State Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov; as well as artistic director of the Pushkin Theater Evgeny Pisarev.

Pevtsov, however, has already reacted negatively to the possible appointment, stating that the Studio School should be run exclusively by its graduate. He did not name a specific person, but believes that it is necessary to look at graduates over the past 20-30 years.

On the evening of February 11, the Russian Ministry of Culture announced that Bogomolov had been relieved of his duties as rector of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School at his own request. The decision on the appointment of the acting rector will be made in accordance with the established procedure, the department added.
