Drastic changes are needed in the management structure of the Russian Post, its work does not suit anyone. This was stated by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.
Prior to that, the first deputy head of the Federation Council Committee, Ivan Abramov, said that the senators had discussed the work of the post office with the participation of the head of Russian Post, Mikhail Volkov, the day before and found it unsatisfactory.
"The issue of measures aimed at the implementation of sustainable development of the Russian Post Joint-stock Company was considered. The meeting was attended by a large number of senators who voiced a huge number of problems with the work of the Russian Post in their regions. As a result of the discussion, we came to the conclusion that the president's instruction to ensure the renewal and modernization of post offices in rural areas has not been fulfilled," Abramov said.
According to him, the issues that the senators raised at the "government hour" with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development have not been fully resolved. There remains a 50% wage gap compared to the market, which leads to layoffs of employees and the termination of the work of departments. A high level of depreciation is recorded for all types of fixed assets.
"We suggest ... contacting the government of the Russian Federation to take drastic measures both in the management structure of the Russian Post and in support tools for the implementation of presidential instructions and decisions of the Federation Council. The committee is ready to prepare such an appeal," the senator said.
"The subject of the mail, it has been heard for the last 2-3 years. And we raised it in the government, and the Prime Minister gave instructions. There is no contractor who could professionally develop a financial and economic model of the work of the post office and put it on its feet. Losses are growing every year," Matvienko said. — Rural, God forbid, post offices will be closed. This should not be allowed at all."
She asked First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Vladimir Yakushev to get involved in the problem.
"Citizens turn to us. Well, how much can you chew on this topic? Well, we have to make a decision. No one is making a decision yet," Matvienko complained. — Take up this topic and put the squeeze on it. Otherwise, soon everyone there will scatter. Salaries are small, well, the conditions.. Especially the rural post office. In small towns, in small districts, this situation cannot be let go any further."
