A terrorist attack was prevented in Ufa, which was being prepared by two citizens of one of the Central Asian countries, the FSB Public Relations Center of Russia said.

"In Moscow and the Republic of Bashkortostan, the illegal activities of two citizens of one of the Central Asian countries, who were members of the banned in Russia, were suppressed. Russia is an international terrorist organization that planned to commit a terrorist attack in Ufa," the report says.

According to the security forces, the suspected members of the international terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation "conducted reconnaissance of the area," purchased firearms and began to assemble a homemade bomb to organize the detonation of the police department in Ufa. They came into view while collecting information.

"During the arrest, the leader of the cell put up armed resistance to the FSB officers of Russia and as a result of the clash was neutralized by return fire. There are no casualties among law enforcement officers and civilians," the FSB said.

The second migrant is also detained, investigative actions are being carried out with him. Components of IEDs, as well as symbols of the terrorist structure, were found and seized at their place of residence.

The Investigative Department of the FSB in the Republic of Bashkortostan has opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 30, part 2 of Article 205 (attempted commission of a terrorist act) and part 2 of Article 205.5 (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The FSB of Russia noted that "all persons who agreed to assist the enemy will be identified, brought to criminal responsibility and will receive the harsh punishment they deserve."
