Reports of damage by a visitor to a painting in the New Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val in Moscow at the exhibition "Karl Bryullov. Rome — Moscow — Petersburg" do not correspond to reality. This was stated in the press service of the museum.
Earlier, the Moscow-24 telegram channel reported the incident. Allegedly, the visitor accidentally stumbled and fell on the portrait of the artist's older brother, leaving a scratch on the painting.
"The information does not correspond to reality. The Tretyakov Gallery has a video recording of the moment the visitor fell, which shows that he did not touch the painting,"the RIA Novosti press service assured.
We are talking about the work "Portrait of the architect A.P. Bryullov", which refers to the period of creativity of Karl Bryullov (1799-1852) no later than 1841.
