Before the New Year, a cyber attack was carried out on Polish power plants and a blackout almost occurred in the country. This was stated by the Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland Krzysztof Havkowski.
"It was the most serious attack on the energy infrastructure aimed at cutting off electricity supply to citizens at the end of December. We were very close to a blackout," the minister said in an interview on RMF FM.
According to him, the situation was difficult to control due to difficult weather conditions.
"Everything points to the fact that we are dealing with Russian sabotage, because it needs to be called by its own name," Krzysztof Havkowski said.
The minister did not provide any evidence, but referred to the conclusions of some Polish services.
Earlier, Polish Energy Minister Milos Motyka said that a cyber attack had occurred on a number of power plants, including thermal power plants and wind and solar power plants. They allegedly wanted to deprive them of communication with network operators.
