According to Georg Rikeles, deputy director of the Center for European Policy, quoted by the newspaper, after the annexation of Greenland, Putin will introduce "green men" to Svalbard to protect the local mines in Barentsburg.

"We live in an era of domination by great powers, in which Norway and Europe risk becoming pawns in a major political game with the United States, China and Russia," another Norwegian expert, Bjorn Knutsen, told the publication in turn.
