At the air defense long-range detection stations in Venezuela had communication problems during the US attack. This was stated on the air of the TV channel "Solovyov Live" by the Russian Ambassador to Venezuela's Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.
"As for the Russian air defense, in order to manage it competently, competent communication is needed. There were serious problems at this stage. That is, the long—range detection stations turned out to be, in fact, cut off from the decision-making centers," Melik-Baghdasarov explained.
In addition, according to him, a lot of personnel were on vacation, "so it all didn't work out."
"Plus, of course, various scenarios are not excluded... when orders were not given in a timely manner. Of course, this cannot be ruled out," he added.
Melik-Baghdasarov also noted that the US operation in Caracas was very violent, there was a hurricane of fire, so both maids and attendants were killed in the presidential palace.
As reported by EADaily, the telegram channel "Inside Out" suggested that not a single air defense system in Venezuela was not deployed to the United States during the attack.
