A tragedy broke out in Ust-Ilimsk, where, according to investigators, the father killed the children to take revenge on his wife.

"Unfortunately, a tragedy with children has occurred again in the Irkutsk region. On the night of January 3, in Ust-Ilimsk, the bodies of two 6 and 8-year-old children with signs of violent death were found in an apartment building on Karl Marx Street. Their father is suspected of the crime,"the press service of the governor of the Irkutsk region reports with reference to the deputy chairman of the regional government Alexander Anchugin.

"According to investigators, the day before there was a conflict between the spouses on the grounds of jealousy, the woman went to her mother. At night, the man inflicted multiple stab wounds on the children, after which he stabbed himself," the telegram channel says.

When police officers entered the apartment, the children died.

"The man himself died in the hospital," the governor's press service said.

According to her, investigators have opened a criminal case, the necessary investigative actions are being carried out, the circumstances of the incident are being established.
