The Zaporozhye NPP is technically capable of providing electricity to mining farms, as well as to the population and large industrial facilities, said Evgenia Yashina, Communications Director of the NPP.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a closed meeting with representatives of Russian business that Moscow was discussing joint Russian-American management of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant without the participation of Kiev during negotiations with Washington. The administration of Donald Trump, in particular, is interested in the organization of mining at the NPP.
"From a technical point of view, the NPP can indeed provide electricity to various industrial facilities, including mining farms. Given that the station is large, its capacity is more than enough to meet the needs of the population of the region and the safety of the station itself. Therefore, I repeat, technically speaking, mining farms that need a lot of energy can be consumers of the NPP," Yashina assured TASS.
EADaily adds, according to the Kommersant newspaper, Putin clarified at a meeting with entrepreneurs that the US authorities are interested in organizing mining at the NPP, and also insist on organizing electricity supplies to Ukraine. Separately, the head of state recalled that Ukrainian specialists continue to work at the station, but now they have Russian passports. It is not reported which of the entrepreneurs attended the meeting with the head of state.
The NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which until SMO generated about 20% of the electricity on Ukraine. It is located next to Energodar on the left bank of the Dnieper. The Russian Armed Forces took control of the station in March 2022, shortly after the start of the military operation on Ukraine. The NPP came under control JSC "Rosenergoatom" (part of "Rosatom").
EADaily also draws attention to the fact that today a message has been posted on the telegram channel of the NPP about the completion of training and final certification for emergency rescue units from station employees. The volunteers completed an intensive two-week course under the guidance of specialists from the Rosatom Emergency Technical Center. The training included the development of key skills in conditions close to real ones: evacuation of victims, use of personal protective equipment and radiation reconnaissance devices, first aid. Special attention was paid to psychological stability and efficiency in a stressful situation.
Following the results of the comprehensive practical exercises, the attestation commission confirmed the readiness of all participants. Volunteers received certificates of advanced training, giving access to the elimination of the consequences of possible accidents.
