London police have filed rape charges against the ex-husband of singer and actress Katy Perry, British comedian, actor and TV presenter Russell Brand. This is reported by the Variety portal.
Previously, the star of the movie "In flight" has already been charged with two counts of rape, one case of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault.
Now the comedian has been accused of rape and sexual assault again.
Against the background of additional charges, Brand will appear in court on January 20.
The court in London has already considered the case of the comedian on previous charges, then he pleaded not guilty. The charges against the four women relate to incidents that occurred between 1999 and 2005. The trial is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2026. Until that time, he will be under conditional bail.
"The women who have filed applications, including those related to the two new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers," said London Police Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi.
He added that the investigation of the London Police, launched after receiving several statements as a result of a major revelation in 2023, conducted by both the Channel 4 documentary series and The Sunday Times newspaper, is "ongoing," and urged anyone who has been affected by this case or has information to contact the police.
As reported by EADaily, Katy Perry herself, along with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, previously confirmed the relationship with a paired publication on the social network.
