Ukraine has to pay the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday, December 9, more than $ 170 million to repay the debt.

This was reported this morning by the RIA Novosti news agency, referring to the payment schedule of the international lender.

According to him, on December 9, Kiev must make a payment of almost 126 million units of special drawing rights (SDR), which are the IMF's internal means of payment.

In dollar terms, according to the current IMF exchange rate, this amounts to $ 171.4 million. It follows from the schedule that this payment should be the last for Ukraine this year.

According to the IMF, Ukraine's total debt currently stands at more than $ 14 billion and the fund expects that the amount of debt will grow.

This growth is projected due to the fact that at the end of November, the IMF announced that it had reached a preliminary agreement at the working level on a new extended financing program for Kiev for another $ 8.2 billion.

Earlier, EADaily reported that at the end of November, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) published a forecast for Ukraine, which indicates a huge funding deficit in the coming years.
