An An-22 military transport aircraft crashed in the Ivanovo region, which was making a "scheduled flyby after repair," TASS reports with reference to operational services. The aircraft crashed in the area of the Uvod reservoir, its wreckage was found on the water.
According to the telegram channel Shot, the An-22 collapsed into pieces.
"The crew took the car away from the settlements to the last. As a result of the emergency, all those on board were killed — five crew members and two passengers. The VKS commission flew to the crash site," the TC pointed out.
TK Mash adds that the last time the plane contacted was at 11 am.
A year and a half ago, an IL-76 military transport plane also crashed in the Ivanovo region, killing 15 people (8 crew members and 7 passengers).
An-22 "Antey" was the last active aircraft of this type in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation — they have been used since 1969. The plane first took off in 1974.
