The Polish authorities have released four Ukrainian citizens who were detained last week on suspicion of involvement in the bombing of railway tracks on the Warsaw — Lublin line.
According to the Onet portal, citing sources, on November 19, Polish law enforcement officers arrested four citizens of Ukraine. Two of them were detained by employees of the Internal Security Agency, and the other two were detained by the police.
The Ukrainians were detained on suspicion of assisting their compatriots, whom the Polish special services accused of organizing an explosion on the railway.
Their identities had been established earlier. These are 41-year-old Yevgeny Ivanov and 39-year-old Alexander Kononov. They left the territory of Poland through the Terespol checkpoint on the border with Belarus.
At the same time, law enforcement officers admit that there is nothing to present to the four detainees in fact — they were not familiar with each other, although they had lived in Poland for a long time.
"None of the four arrested were charged with participating in sabotage. Only one of those arrested was charged, but on a completely different charge," the report said.
On November 16 and 17, sabotage was committed on the Polish railway. Warsaw accused them of two Ukrainians who allegedly fled to Belarus. Warsaw demanded that Minsk extradite them.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Polish police launched a special operation after an explosion on the railway tracks leading to Ukraine.
