A gang of "policemen" from Central Asia operated in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, a gang of immigrants from Central Asian countries engaged in armed robbery and kidnapping under the guise of police officers. This was announced today, November 14, according to the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB.

"Employees of the FSB of Russia in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, in cooperation with the Criminal investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, stopped the illegal activities of an armed ethnic stable group of persons consisting of immigrants from the Central Asian region," the report says.

From November 2024 to February 2025, the detainees, posing as policemen, carried out several attacks with firearms on city residents for the purpose of robbery and extortion.

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case under paragraphs "a", "b", "w", "h" of part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Kidnapping" and part 3 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Robbery". All detainees have been arrested.
