Lithuania wants to score political points by closing the border with Belarus. This was stated to the TV channel "First Information" by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Maxim Ryzhenkov.
Vilnius is trying to show Europe that it is restraining the "hordes of barbarians", of course, it is not without reason, the Belarusian Foreign Minister noted.
"All this confrontation is from their unrestrained desire to capitalize on this conflict potential, to earn political points by showing the entire European community, they say, look, we are holding back hordes of barbarians, respect us for this, help us for this," Ryzhenkov said, quoted by TASS.
As reported by EADaily, the Belarusian authorities rejected the offer of Vilnius "Shalchininkai — Benyakoni". This was stated by the adviser to the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ignas Dobrovolskas, LRT reported.
