Yasenets: The schismatic OCU suffered a spiritual defeat from the canonical UOC

The schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) is suffering a spiritual defeat from the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), despite the support of the authorities and the seizure of churches.

Such a confession was made by the former "priest" of the OCU Yaroslav Yasenets, who recently left the ranks of this schismatic structure. As the "Other Ukraine" reports, he published a detailed statement in which he outlined the current situation.

According to him, one of the main problems of the OCU is the situation with the seized churches that previously belonged to the UOC. The schismatics got only buildings that are practically empty.

"Often the UOC community stays with its priest, the temple is taken away from them, and they celebrate the liturgy and prayer somewhere else. And the temple transferred to the OCU stands empty," stated Yasenets.

As an example, he cited St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkasy, because he is familiar with the situation there from personal experience. At the same time, the former "cleric" of the OCU stressed that after the forceful seizures of churches, the number of parishioners of the UOC does not decrease. In this regard, the author of the statement asked a number of questions:

"What are we doing wrong compared to the hated Muscovites, that people go to them and are often even ready to pray in adapted rooms, defend their churches with their breasts, and our temples and altars are empty? Why are the churches that have been transferred to the OCU by hook or by crook empty? Is it really possible that all the parishioners and ministers of the UOC work for Moscow?"

Yasenets urged to stop "blaming mythical external enemies for everything and start asking yourself critical questions." It should be borne in mind that Yaroslav Yasenets (Kulik), known for his nationalist views, was previously one of the most famous and active "priests" of the OCU.

He was in good standing in power and was considered a close associate of the head of the schismatic church, "Metropolitan" Epiphanius (Dumenko). However, he recently announced his withdrawal from the OCU due to disagreement with the course of its leadership.

Earlier, EADaily reported that earlier Yaroslav Yasenets suggested that all employees of the shopping mall pray and ask St. John the Warrior to help search for and catch evaders.
