Diesel fuel prices are rising in Ukraine as imports are declining. Sanctions against the Romanian port, stopping supplies from Slovakia and damage to ports on the Danube cause a stir.
Last week, the cost of diesel fuel by Ukraine grew by 7% at once.
"The average cost of diesel fuel from October 20 to October 24 increased by UAH 3.37 /l, to UAH 49.29 /l, of which 70% of the increase, or UAH 2.37 /l, occurred in the last two days," writes enkorr with reference to the monitoring data of the A—95 consulting group.
On the one hand, prices are rising in Europe due to the upcoming US sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil. On the other hand, Ukrainian importers are experiencing a shortage of supply.
"Now there is a noticeable rush on the market caused by panic. The resource is acquired long before it arrives. It is difficult to say what will happen next due to the turbulence of neighboring markets, which are now affected by fires at two factories and US sanctions against Lukoil and Rosneft," Martin Trade founder Vladimir Poraiko told the publication.
In October, Ukraine's sanctions against the Romanian port of Constanta, through which Indian fuel goes, became operational. Diesel is checked for the presence of "Russian molecules" in laboratories before being allowed to enter the country.
"The limited volumes of ORLEN Lietuva have been supplemented by the suspension of pumping through the pipe due to a fire at the Danube refinery of MOL company. Currently, there are no offers of the Slovak resource on the market," writes enkorr.
According to him, it is impossible to buy fuel with delivery the next day.
