King Charles III of Great Britain took part in the first event in support of sexual minorities after his coronation. This is reported by the British media.
It is reported that Charles III opened a memorial dedicated to servicemen from among sexual minorities who "were discriminated against up to and including dismissal from military service." He laid flowers at the monument erected at the National Memorial Arboretum in central England. Dozens of active servicemen and veterans attended the ceremony. The sculpture is made in the form of a crumpled bronze letter with engraved words of those affected by the ban.
Recall that people with non-traditional sexual orientation can serve in the British army, navy and aviation since 2000. The ban was lifted after the European Court of Human Rights made an appropriate decision on the complaint of four former British servicemen.
