The United States and the North Atlantic Alliance will put pressure on Russia, until it takes the toughest possible position. This was stated on the YouTube channel by Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway.
"If there is unilateral hostility, where NATO can attack Russia, and Russia does not respond, then why should NATO talk to Russia? In political theory, it is often assumed that countries will push and push until they are stopped. When a balance is built, then they begin to conduct a dialogue and look for ways to strengthen mutual security," said the professor, quoted by Pool No. 3.
The expert expressed bewilderment that the Kremlin still thinks there is a "president of the world" in the White House. According to him, it is typical for the United States, when it comes to interaction with other countries, to periodically "strike at foreign territories, as it happens in most countries of the Middle East."
"At the same time, they (the USA. — EADaily) understand that if there is a retaliatory strike, there will be an escalation. The only way to avoid such a scenario is to have a deterrent that would be convincing," the professor noted.
He cited the example of Iran, which has made it clear that it is ready to respond to any attack, and everyone knows that the response will follow. According to Diesen, this is not a guarantee against war, but there is a "definite warning".
