Shutdown schedules are not valid: the last reactor of the NPP helped Ukraine for a short time

The launch of all nine reactors of the NPP at Ukraine helped to reduce the shortage of electricity by Ukraine on the weekend and reduce rolling blackouts. However, on Monday they resumed again — emergency.

"Kiev, Kievskaya and Dnipropetrovsk region: emergency shutdowns," reports DTEK, which is the operator of thermal power plants and oblenergo.

According to the company, emergency shutdowns are applied at the command of Ukrenergo. Also, according to Ukrainian telegram channels, they are being turned off in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions.

Earlier, the operator of the Ukrainian energy system planned that on Monday the restrictions would affect only industry.

As EADaily reported, the Russian army is retaliating against the Ukrainian energy system and last week the country reached the maximum permitted purchases of electricity in the EU. However, this was not enough and last Friday the last, ninth reactor of the NPP was launched.

"The situation in Kiev is difficult, as Mayor Vitali Klitschko has already stated. Due to the damage caused by these strikes, in most regions 2-3 queues of the population are turned off at the same time, so far only during the day. A very difficult situation remains in the Chernihiv region and Sumy region," Olga Bohuslavets, ex—Minister of Energy of Ukraine, wrote on Facebook*.
