The tests of the "Petrel" should be perceived in the light of the fact that, despite all readiness for dialogue with the United States, both Russia and President Vladimir Putin are guided by their own national interests. This was announced today, October 27, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

"Russia is consistently engaged in ensuring its own security. It is in line with this task that the development of new weapons systems is taking place, to which the voiced system belongs," Peskov said.

This is how he answered the question of whether the Petrel test can be considered a response to the increasing economic pressure from the United States and Europe.

"With all our openness to establishing a dialogue with the United States, after all, Russia, first of all, and the Russian president is guided by his own national interests. So it was, so it is, and so it will continue," Peskov explained.

As for the EU, the Europeans are in a state of Russophobic and aggressive hysteria.

"The Europeans are really in a state of such internal hysteria, Russophobic, aggressive and belligerent," Peskov said.

As EADaily reported, on the eve of Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of the decisive tests of the Burevestnik unlimited-range cruise missile with a nuclear power plant. He noted that there is still a lot of work to be done to put these weapons on combat duty.

Earlier, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to Putin that the test was conducted on October 21, a multi-hour flight of the rocket was carried out, during which it covered a distance of 14 thousand kilometers, and this is not the limit.
