Bulgaria is ready to provide an air corridor for Russian President Vladimir Putin's plane on its way to Budapest for a meeting with American leader Donald Trump. This was stated to journalists in Luxembourg at a meeting of EU foreign ministers, Foreign Minister Georgy Georgiev, Petel reports with reference to BNR.
"When efforts are being made to achieve peace, if holding a meeting is a condition for this, then it is most logical that such a meeting should be mediated in all possible ways," Georgiev said.
To the clarifying question, does this mean that Bulgaria will provide an air corridor to the Russian board No. 1, the minister answered with a counter question: "And how is it proposed to hold a summit if one of the participants cannot get to it?"
Georgiev expressed hope that "we have come closer to sustainable peace for Ukraine."
As reported by EADaily, Russian President Vladimir Putin may request permission to fly over Poland on his way to peace talks in Budapest, which will put Warsaw and other European capitals in front of a difficult choice. This was reported by the local radio station RMF24, citing a source.
