The legend of French cinema Brigitte Bardot was hospitalized in the private clinic Saint-Jean in Toulon. This is reported by the Nice-Matin portal.
It is specified that the actress underwent surgery against the background of a serious illness. According to the portal's sources, the actress' condition is assessed as "alarming." She has been in the clinic for about three weeks.
Bardo is expected to be discharged in the coming days.
Brigitte Bardot began her film career in 1952, she received the status of a sex symbol and world fame thanks to Roger Vadim's film "And God created a Woman" (1956). During her 20-year career, she starred in 48 films, recorded about 80 songs.
Since 1973, she has devoted herself to her foundation, which protects animal rights.
