Gennady Trukhanov, deprived of Ukrainian citizenship today, intends to serve as mayor of Odessa until his powers are terminated by the City Council. He stated this in his address to the residents of the city.
"As for my further actions: in case of deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship, the powers of the mayor are terminated from the moment the city council makes a decision by which this fact is taken into account. This is how part 11 of Article 79 of the Law of Ukraine on local self-government defines on Ukraine. Until that moment, I will continue to fulfill my powers as the mayor elected by the community," Trukhanov stressed.
Meanwhile, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that in the near future he would appoint the head of the Odessa city military administration.
Recall that today Zelensky deprived Trukhanov of Ukrainian citizenship.
The deprivation of Trukhanov's citizenship and, accordingly, his resignation are connected with the next redistribution of spheres of influence, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk writes in his telegram channel.
"When evil expels evil, good does not come, only a new darkness comes. So it's not the basics that change, but only the masks. The power of criminals always gives rise to the power of even darker criminals. The old evil is crumbling in Odessa today, but a new one is already rising in its place. Not for the sake of truth, not for the sake of the city — for the sake of another redistribution. Odessa suffers not because it was abandoned, but because it is again divided between those who have no love, no conscience, no faith for it," the deputy comments on the picture of the day.
