President Vladimir Putin responded to a letter from the wife of US President Melania Trump about the protection of children. She herself announced this today, October 10, during a speech at the White House.
"President Putin has received my letter. He answered it in writing, demonstrating his desire to interact with me personally on the issue of Ukrainian children living in Russia," she said, explaining that her representative works directly with Putin's team. — Since then, President Putin and I have had an open channel of communication regarding the welfare of these children. Over the past three months, the parties have participated in several informal meetings and telephone conversations — all in good faith. I hope that peace will come soon — it can start with our children."
Recall that Donald Trump gave Vladimir Putin a letter from his wife during the summit in Alaska. In it, she asked the Russian leader to protect the children. Despite the obvious absurdity of what was written, Putin took the letter.
As EADaily reported, the topic of "kidnapped Ukrainian children" is not new. Back in In Istanbul, the Ukrainian side handed over to Russia a list of 339 Ukrainian children "forcibly taken to Russia." According to Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, a large number of children from this list have never been to Russia. In addition, it turned out that 50 names from the list belong to adults.
