Military correspondent Alexander Kots, following the meetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, stressed that many people had forgotten how the Azerbaijani side reacted after the tragedy with the AZAL plane, "what accusations were scattered and in what expressions it was not shy."
At today's meeting in Dushanbe, the Russian leader, according to Kotz, "taught a lesson to loud punks," speaking about the facts.
"Here, on the contrary, facts are against emotions. Yes, the plane was damaged as a result of the effects of air defense. It is no coincidence that Putin also mentioned that it was the crew that took this impact for birds. Aliyev then called it "nonsense" in an insulting manner. But the root cause is a Ukrainian drone in our airspace. The President again stressed that in Russia is conducting a comprehensive and objective investigation. While in Azerbaijan they remember the "Soviet occupation" and demolish monuments to Aivazovsky. Putin, again, recalled that the Russian dispatchers provided full assistance to the Azerbaijani crew and offered to land in Makhachkala. Who knows how it would have ended if he had agreed. But the pilots themselves decided to go to Baku. And they didn't make it," Kots stressed.
Russia has brought human condolences. He does not shy away from paying compensation, he noted.
"Emotional tantrums and geopolitical blackmail are not our method. The lesson of an adult politician to loud punks," the military correspondent said.
He added that he still wants to learn from Aliyev:
- who and how was punished for shooting down a Russian helicopter,
- who and how was punished for the shooting of Russian peacekeepers,
- when will Baku release Russian journalists and relocators detained by lawlessness?
