The British newspaper The Times believes that after the next resignation of the French Prime Minister, President Emmanuel Macron himself will not be in office for long. Now he has become a "lame duck", unable to impose his policies on the country's disparate parliament.
According to the newspaper, Macron has three options for further actions: the appointment of a new prime minister, parliamentary elections and his own resignation.
Today, the BFMTV channel showed Macron walking alone along the promenade in Paris. This happened a few hours after the announcement of the resignation of the barely appointed government.
As reported by EADaily, French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecorny submitted his resignation amid criticism from the opposition the day after the announcement of the updated composition of the government, in which 13 out of 18 mandates went to representatives of the previous cabinet. As a result, the leaders of the opposition parties demanded the resignation of the government, and some — the dissolution of parliament and the resignation of Macron.
