The informal summit of the heads of the European Union countries, which was held on October 1 in Copenhagen, reached a dead end. This was reported today, October 2, by Politico.
"The long-standing European problem of talking about the crisis instead of solving it returned again on Wednesday. Even against the background of the fact that Europe is being attacked by drones, airplanes and taking into account hybrid attacks, the summit has reached a familiar impasse,"the publication says.
The publication noted that during the summit the discussion of issues went on for a very long time. In particular, to discuss defense It took the EU four hours, which turned out to be twice as long as planned. However, "there was little significant," and most of the key questions remained unanswered.
Recall, the two-day summit of EU leaders began in Denmark on October 1. The focus is on the military and financial support of Kiev, strengthening the security of Europe, issues of pressure on Russia and so on.
