In the Zaporozhye direction, the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the Poltava bridgehead, where the Russian Armed Forces are advancing from Olgovsky to Poltava, has sharply worsened. This is reported by a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign Muchnoy.
The fighting is already underway on the approaches to the bridgehead, the military said.
"The situation has sharply escalated — the battles are already unfolding directly on his (Poltava bridgehead. — Ed.) approaches. The enemy from the eastern flank is trying to enter the fortified area itself, testing our defense with frontal measures. At the same time... he is trying to act more cunningly — he comes in from the northeast to bypass the fortification and create a threat of being cut off from the Hunting area. This is a classic attempt to clamp down with pincers: direct pressure plus the outgoing maneuvering group," the serviceman writes, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
According to him, if If the Russian Armed Forces advance to the northeast, then the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area will be cut.
"That is, the battle for the Poltava bridgehead is not just local, but decisive for the preservation of the whole frontier," Muchnoy explained.
As EADaily reported, the Russian army advanced in the area of five settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and in the DPR. This was reported by the Ukrainian military public Deep State.
The advance was recorded near Yampol, Berezovo, Kalinovsky, Olgovsky and Novoivanovka.
