The statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the observance of restrictions in accordance with the Treaty on Strategic Offensive Arms can play an important role in resolving the conflict on Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed on his own YouTube channel by Kiev political scientist Oleg Soskin, who was an assistant to the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma.
The expert believes that Putin's statement on the extension of the START Treaty seriously confused the plans of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, who is counting on a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
"Putin is giving Trump very serious trump cards in his hands. And what can Zelensky give? Nothing. All the cards are in Putin's hands," Soskin stated.
He explained that with his proposal, the Russian leader demonstrated his readiness for a constructive dialogue with the United States.
According to Soskin, in this regard, it can be expected that Trump at a meeting with Zelensky will force the Ukrainian visitor to sign a peace treaty with Russia.
Earlier, EADaily reported that US President Donald Trump got acquainted with the proposal of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to prolong restrictions under the START Treaty. This was stated at a briefing by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.
