US President Donald Trump got acquainted with the proposal of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to prolong restrictions under the START Treaty. This was stated at a briefing by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.
So she answered the relevant question.
Leavitt did not comment on Putin's proposal for restrictions under the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty, noting that later Trump would speak out personally.
"As for your first question about Russia, the president is aware of this proposal by President Putin, and I will allow him to comment on it later. I think it sounds good, but he wants to make his own comments, and I'll let him do it," the spokeswoman said.
As EADaily reported, today Russian President Vladimir Putin made an important statement regarding the country's strategic security. It was made at the beginning of an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. We offer the full text published on the Kremlin's website.
