UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made irresponsible statements regarding the ban on the work of women in the office of the UN Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). This was stated by the representative of the Islamic Emirate Zabihullah Mujahid, Ariana News reports.
"The head of the United Nations should understand the meaning of his words and expressions and not use them so lightly," Mujahid said.
He recalled that the laws and regulations governing the status of women and men in Afghanistan are based on Islamic Sharia. And if someone is not familiar with Sharia law, "this is his own problem."
"Instead of blaming others, you'd better do your own enlightenment," Mujahid added.
Earlier, Guterres called the decision of the Islamic Emirate to ban women from working in UN offices in Afghanistan "stupid."
