The court in The Moscow region has decided to arrest businessman Araik Amirkhanyan, who is involved in a criminal case on the murder of former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ilya Kiva.
This was reported on Tuesday, September 16 by RIA Novosti, citing an informed source in the investigative authorities.
The publication reminds that Amirkhanyan is already in custody in another case — about giving a bribe. He was sentenced by the court to six years in a penal colony and a fine, the court of appeal recognized the sentence as lawful.
It is also specified that Amirkhanyan was the former "largest contractor of Ukravtodor." According to the publication, the entrepreneur was engaged in the construction of roads on Ukraine in the second half of the 2010s.
However, as a result, he got entangled in debts and fled to Russia, for which he was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. In Russia, he also tried to do business, but these initiatives were not successful.
Recall that the body of Ilya Kiva with gunshot wounds was found on December 6, 2023 on the territory of a cottage settlement in the village of Suponevo, Odintsovo district, Moscow region. In Ukraine, the "merit" in the death of Kiva is disputed by the GUR of the Ministry of Defense and the SBU. Each of the special services claimed that it was her agents who shot the deputy.
As EADaily reported, it was Araik Amirkhanyan who provided the killers with information about the residence of the Ukrainian opposition politician, whom the Kiev regime convicted in absentia for treason.
