A new person involved has appeared in the case of the murder of the chief of the Radiation, chemical and Biological Protection Forces (RCBZ) Igor Kirillov. This is a Russian citizen born in Baku, TASS reports, referring to the case file.
"A criminal case has been opened into the murder of two servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation — Igor Kirillov and Ilya Polikarpov — by detonating an explosive device of an unidentified type, as a result of which the death of these persons occurred. Robert Safaryan was detained on suspicion of committing a crime," the case file says.
It is noted that the man was born in Baku, but currently has Russian citizenship.
Safaryan* has been charged with a terrorist attack, as well as with the illegal manufacture and sale of explosives. He is under arrest by court order.
Akhmadjon Kurbonov*, Ramazan Padiev* and Batukhan Tochiev*. All three are charged under the article on the terrorist act (item "b" of part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The murder of Igor Kirillov took place on the morning of December 17, 2024 on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow. An improvised explosive device was placed in an electric scooter left at the entrance of a residential building. As a result of the terrorist attack, Lieutenant-General Kirillov and his assistant were killed. According to Kurbonov*, he was recruited by the Ukrainian special services, who promised him a monetary reward of $ 100 thousand and departure to live in one of the EU countries. Padiev* and Tochiev * rented housing for Kurbonov * and gave him money from the curator.
